Job summary

Mitchell International is seeking a Senior Principal Database Engineer for a US-remote role. You will design, build, and optimize data platforms powering enterprise analytics, reporting, ML, and AI initiatives across AWS, Snowflake, Azure, and Databricks.

You will partner with stakeholders and data scientists to deliver secure, governed data products, automate infrastructure with IaC, and mentor engineers while driving cost efficiency and platform performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive data engineering/analytics experience.
• Master's degree preferred in CS/IS/Data Science.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale data platforms and analytics solutions.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize modern data platforms powering analytics, reporting, ML, and AI.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data products.
• Partner with stakeholders, analytics teams, data scientists, and engineers.
• Design scalable cloud-native data architectures and automate provisioning with IaC tools.
• Mentor engineers, perform code reviews, and pursue platform governance and security improvements.
