Job summary

Oregon Community Credit Union seeks an experienced Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen and protect OCCU's technology environment. This highly technical, collaborative role spans Technology Services and Information Security, focusing on endpoints, servers, networks, and services to maintain secure operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on security engineering, vulnerability mitigation, platform implementation, and guidance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in technical cybersecurity roles focusing on endpoints and networks.
• Strong knowledge of NIST, ISO 27000, and CIS Controls.
• Experience with endpoint protection platforms (e.g., Cisco AMP, CrowdStrike, or Symantec).
• Knowledge of network security technologies including firewalls and VPNs.
• Cloud security principles across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Microsoft system and application technologies.
• Proven troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with ITIL change control and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Tech Services and Information Security to implement security solutions and enforce policy.
• Deploy security solutions across endpoints, networks, servers, and services.
• Respond to security findings from assessments and audits to mitigate risk.
• Develop OS and network hardening baselines and security guidelines.
• Contribute to new security platforms and strategic security initiatives.
• Support incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Maintain technical documentation of data flows, repos, and integration points.
• Provide technical guidance and training on security best practices.
