Job summary

Solventum is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Assurance Engineer to lead cybersecurity activities across the product lifecycle, including risk management, threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and SBOM management for medical device systems.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure regulatory compliance and drive security improvements, audits, and supplier assessments while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years in cybersecurity for medical devices.
• Experience with embedded systems, IoT, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi or cellular tech.
• Experience applying premarket/postmarket medical device regulations & standards (FDA, EU, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304).
• Experience leading threat modeling and vulnerability assessments for embedded/IoT devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity assurance activities across the product life cycle (risk management, threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, security architecture, SBOMs).
• Ensure regulatory compliance and escalate major issues affecting patient safety or security.
• Serve as cybersecurity champion within product teams; collaborate with hardware, software, design, QA, and regulatory groups.
