Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Principal Clinical Molecular Geneticist to lead expert interpretation of clinical DNA test data, curate gene panels, and drive quality and efficiency across the laboratory. You will guide process improvements, sign out complex reports, and mentor colleagues in a fast-paced diagnostic setting.

Remote options are available within the United States. The role requires a Doctoral degree in a related field with board certification eligibility or active certification

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution.
• ABMGG/LGG, ABB HCLD certifications or CCMG eligibility at time of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Experience performing high-complexity genetic testing.

Responsibilities

• Review genetic testing data and test reports; interpret variants and sign out results.
• Curate gene panels with comprehensive literature-backed lists.
• Lead process-improvement projects to drive cost savings and productivity.
• Troubleshoot test systems with technical staff and ensure SOP compliance.
• Act as an expert resource for colleagues on complex cases and coaching others.
