Job summary

TrekFed is seeking an AWS Migration Lead/Principal Cloud Architect to guide the design and delivery of scalable AWS architectures for government and defense clients. This fully remote role Leads cross-functional teams, defines IaC patterns, and drives modernization initiatives across engagements.

The candidate will provide technical coaching, oversee delivery, and collaborate with vendors while staying current with AWS best practices. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field with 8–10 years IT experience.
• 3–5+ years of AWS experience and 3+ years of code-defined infrastructure.
• 3+ years CI/CD experience and cloud-native patterns knowledge.
• Experience in a consultative, client-facing role; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of migrations and modernization to AWS for government/defense clients.
• Provide technical guidance and oversee a growing cloud engineering team.
• Develop scalable cloud architectures and IaC components.
• Engage with clients, present decisions, and drive project outcomes.
• Coach teams, perform code reviews, and contribute to internal IP and open source.
