Intermountain Health is seeking a Pre-Access Authorization Specialist I for a fully remote, full-time role. You will verify insurance eligibility, secure prior authorizations, and manage related denials to safeguard patient financial health.

You will handle demographics, verify benefits and authorizations, contact patients or providers to obtain authorization, escalate unresolved issues, and support quality and productivity standards while aligning with our mission and values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 4 years revenue cycle experience.
• Minimum 2 years insurance authorization experience.

Responsibilities

• Confirms, enters, and/or updates required demographic data on patient and guarantor.
• Verifies insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization; follows up on appeals and denials.
• Contacts patient/provider when authorization is unsecured prior to scheduled service date.
• Escalates issues that cannot be resolved independently.
• Maintains departmental/individual work queues and reviews self-quality for due diligence.
• Meets or exceeds productivity, due diligence and quality standards.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values and abides by service behavior standards.
