Placements24 is seeking a Public Relations Coordinator for a fully remote role. You will support the PR team by drafting press materials, coordinating media events, and maintaining media lists while contributing to campaigns impacting communities in Queenstown and beyond.

The role is ideal for entry-level or early-career professionals with strong communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach, working effectively from home in a remote capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in PR, communications, or related field; internships/volunteer experience valued.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic social media understanding.
• Ability to work remotely and collaborate in a distributed team.
• Interest in the South African media landscape.
• Familiarity with PR software or media monitoring tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and execution of PR campaigns and strategies.
• Draft and edit press releases, advisories, and PR materials.
• Maintain and update media contact lists and databases.
• Coordinate logistics for media events, interviews, and press conferences.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports.
