Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Power Systems Engineer I for its Electric Power Division to support design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems.

You will deliver automation solutions for complex power systems and lead retrofit and new project work from concept through commissioning. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field, with 2+ years of related experience, strong knowledge of power systems, PLC/HMI experience,

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Industry experience with automation and controls.
• Experience with PLC-based systems and HMIs is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs and develop PLC/HMI applications.
