Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in the United States is seeking a Power Systems Engineer I to support design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation solutions for complex power systems, working independently and with teams to execute retrofit and new projects from concept to commissioning.

This role requires travel up to 35-50% and a drive to deliver reliable, safe electrical power systems for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• /n 2+ years with BSEET or 4+ years without a degree.
• Experience with control systems and power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and support proposals.
• Design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV control systems.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD to produce wiring drawings.
• Provide technical support to sales and product support teams.
• Train technicians and customers on system operation.
