Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a PowerBI Technical Administrator to ensure smooth operations of DW/BI environments, installing, configuring, and optimizing software for data warehousing and BI systems from the ground up.

You will design and maintain Power BI dashboards, build data models with Power Query and DAX, and connect to SQL Server, Oracle, Excel, and cloud sources while managing data refreshes and security permissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Build and optimize data models using Power Query (M) and DAX.
• Connect Power BI to data sources (SQL Server, Oracle, Excel, cloud services, APIs).
• Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues in reports and data models.
• Collaborate with business analysts, database engineers, and leadership to gather reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Generates Ad-Hoc PBI Reports.
• Conducts PBI Training (Instructor-led Class Development, Delivery).
• Installs and configures DW/BI software to meet customer needs in accordance with enterprise architecture.
• Continuously tunes environment to optimize performance of DW/BI software.
• Designs, implements, and updates user management solutions to provide appropriate access levels.
• Evaluates vendor software updates to plan and implement patches.
• Makes recommendations for hardware/software changes to improve performance.
• Ensures smooth operations of DW/BI software through monitoring and patching.
• Supports user administration for role-based security.
• Performs upgrades to incorporate new features and security.
