Food Standards Agency seeks a Product Developer to design and deliver digital solutions that streamline operational data and workflows. The role focuses on Power Apps and Power Automate to replace manual processes and reduce duplication, working in a user-centred, agile environment.

The assignment is initially 6 months, home-based, with emphasis on building robust, scalable low-code solutions and clear documentation. Preference for strong collaboration with stakeholders and a fast ramp-up.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing Power Apps to solve operational problems.
• Ability to map processes and translate requirements into solutions.
• Experience connecting Power Platform to data sources such as SharePoint, Lists or Excel.
• End-to-end product management, incl testing, documentation and iterative improvement.
• Autonomy and decision-making for short-term assignments.
• Knowledge of Power Apps formulas, controls, variables, collections and responsive design.

Responsabilités

• Identify manual processes and translate into digital products.
• Design, build, test, deploy and maintain Power Apps and Power Automate workflows.
• Replace spreadsheets and manual forms and email-based processes.
• Build in controls: validation, permissions, approvals, notifications, audit trails.
• Use user-centred and agile approaches to develop MVPs and iterate from feedback.
• Connect apps to data sources (SharePoint, Lists, Dataverse, Excel).
• Undertake testing, troubleshooting and QA before release.
• Produce product documentation and support guidance; maintain change history.
• Monitor adoption and prioritise enhancements based on feedback and evidence.
• Manage a delivery backlog with progress, dependencies and risks.
