Job summary

Openkrill seeks a Remote Trailing Document Specialist to ensure accuracy and compliance of mortgage documents in the post-closing workflow. You will manage recorded mortgages, final title policies, and collaborate with investors and title companies to resolve discrepancies.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's preferred.
• 1+ year mortgage lending experience; 2+ years preferred.
• Familiarity with Encompass LOS and document management platforms.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking.
• Effective written and verbal communication with internal/external partners.
• Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process final title policies and mortgages.
• Audit, scan, index, and upload documents into LOS systems (Encompass).
• Communicate with investors and title companies to resolve delays.
• Serve as primary contact for document issues and coordinate resolutions.
• Identify missing or damaged documents and ensure files are complete.
• Prepare trailing document packages for shipment to investors.
• Track document locations and maintain reports using document systems.
• Perform imaging, scanning, indexing, and reporting tasks.
• Keep management informed of potential delays and issues.
• Independently prioritize work and meet turnaround times.
• Contribute to process improvements and additional duties as assigned.
• Overtime may be required to support operational needs.
