Job summary

NAMIC is seeking a remote Policy Vice President – Tort Reform and Medical Malpractice to lead legislative and regulatory efforts in the State & Policy Affairs department. You will serve as a subject-matter expert and collaborate with NAMIC staff and member companies to analyze issues and develop policy in tort reform and medical malpractice.

You will support advocacy initiatives, prepare testimony and position papers, and communicate complex issues clearly to NAMIC members.

Qualifications

• Experience in issue management is required.
• Strong legal research and writing capabilities are expected.
• Legislative research and analysis abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on legislative and regulatory developments for NAMIC staff and member company staff.
• Support state, federal, and international legislative efforts through issue analysis and policy development in tort reform and medical malpractice.
• Provide public policy support for advocacy initiatives including legislative/legal/regulatory analysis and direct advocacy coverage as needed.
• Serve as chief liaison for Legal System Abuse and Medical Malpractice Working Groups.
• Develop position papers, testimony, and other advocacy pieces as assigned.
• Communicate issues to NAMIC membership through oral presentations, written articles, issue briefs, NAMIC web content, or other NAMIC media publications.
• Travel up to 25% as needed.
