Ideal candidates have 3+ years in public policy, strong writing and networking skills, and knowledge of state legislative processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of public policy with bills in city councils or state legislatures.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities.
• Familiarity with state and municipal legislative processes.
• Grassroots advocacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advance legislation and policy to reduce wild animals in the pet trade.
• Manage contract lobbyists, build coalitions, and support grassroots groups.
• Research and draft persuasive policy materials, including testimony and fact sheets.
• Manage assigned project budgets.
