MSD is seeking a Director of Federal Public Policy & Government Relations for Animal Health in Washington, DC. You will lead engagement with Congress, federal agencies (USDA, FDA) and the administration, shaping policy on animal health tech, biotechnologies, and trade.

The role requires building coalitions and managing consultants while aligning with business goals. Ideal candidates have a minimum of six years in policy or lobbying roles, a bachelor’s degree, and an advanced degree is preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum six years of experience in a federal policy or government relations role.
• Experience with policy development and the Congressional process.
• Advanced degree (e.g., master’s, J.D., or DVM) preferred.
• Experience with trade issues and with agencies like USTR, DOC, and embassies.

Responsabilidades

• Lead federal relationships across the Animal Health North American business.
• Develop and lead engagement strategy with Congress, federal agencies, and the administration.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure a unified policy voice in meetings with officials.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and trade associations to advance policy priorities.
• Oversee consultants and coordinate with North America policy team on trade issues.
