The office of Commissioner Gallardo seeks to hire one Clean Energy Policy Fellow to support Commissioner Gallardo's office by conducting policy research and analysis on geothermal energy, siting and permitting, energy security, and tribal energy initiatives.

Qualifications

• Students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduates; four semesters or six quarters for graduates.
• Minimum 2.0 GPA required and ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; willingness to learn Zoom and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct policy research and analysis on geothermal energy development, siting, permitting, energy security, and tribal energy initiatives.
• Review regulatory processes affecting geothermal and clean energy projects; identify barriers and opportunities.
• Prepare memos, briefing materials, reports, talking points, and presentations for the Commissioner and staff.
• Monitor legislation, regulatory proceedings, industry trends, and related research.
