Qualifications

  • Students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduates; four semesters or six quarters for graduates.
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA required and ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; willingness to learn Zoom and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct policy research and analysis on geothermal energy development, siting, permitting, energy security, and tribal energy initiatives.
  • Review regulatory processes affecting geothermal and clean energy projects; identify barriers and opportunities.
  • Prepare memos, briefing materials, reports, talking points, and presentations for the Commissioner and staff.
  • Monitor legislation, regulatory proceedings, industry trends, and related research.
