Job summary

Jefferson Lab in Newport News, VA is seeking a Manager, Project Controls to lead the daily operations of the Project Controls Group. You will oversee DOE-compliant cost/schedule reporting, EVMS, budgets, and performance data while guiding a team of project controls analysts.

This senior leadership role collaborates with DOE stakeholders, ensures policy execution, and drives forecasting, risk analysis, and continuous improvement across multi‑million dollar projects.

Qualifications

• 15+ years progressive leadership experience in project controls and EVMS.
• 3+ years lead/supervisory experience in project controls.
• DOE, DOD, or prime contractor federal environment experience preferred.
• BS/BA in a related field; advanced degree preferred for seniority.
• Strong ability to develop budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Project Controls Group and ensure DOE-compliant controls.
• Oversee cost and schedule development, EVMS, and performance reporting.
• Mentor and develop project controls analysts and staff.
• Collaborate with DOE stakeholders and lab leadership for data accuracy.
• Maintain project controls tools, templates, and dashboards.
• Provide risk analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning support.
• Ensure policy execution and continuous improvement across projects.
• Coordinate with IT on enterprise tools for scheduling and cost processing.
