Job summary

Resend is seeking an senior Platform Engineer to own and evolve the infrastructure that powers our email platform. You will design scalable AWS-based systems, implement reliable tooling, and automate ops tasks to help engineers move quickly.

You will collaborate across teams to improve reliability, observability, and security, while shaping platform standards and self-service workflows for faster delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience across infrastructure engineering, platform, or SRE.
• Strong experience managing production infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, Terraform or Pulumi).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, queues, databases, caching, networking, and load balancing.
• Solid working knowledge of AWS and cloud-native tooling.
• Experience with observability and monitoring (Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Ability to own initiatives, communicate trade-offs, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the platform that powers Resend, providing reliable infrastructure and tooling.
• Design and operate scalable cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS, focusing on reliability and security.
• Automate operational work and build self-service workflows for common tasks.
• Establish platform standards and patterns for consistent service deployment and operation.
• Improve reliability and observability, participate in incident response, and drive lasting improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers across Resend to solve infrastructure problems and build reusable solutions.
