Job summary

Resend is building a modern email sending platform for developers. We’re a fully remote team with Americas or European timezones and some travel for team offsites and meetups.

You will own features end-to-end, build reliable distributed systems, scale APIs and databases, and operate what you build. Ideal candidates have 8+ years of backend experience, strong API design skills, and hands-on work with Node.js, TypeScript, Go and Postgres, plus AWS and infrastructure as code like Terraform or AWS

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend production systems.
• Experience with queues, asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
• Ability to design systems from scratch and plan rollout.
• Understanding cloud infrastructure, service operations, deployment and debugging production issues.
• Experience designing APIs and relational data models; safe database changes.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CDK).

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end, from idea to APIs, dashboards, and services.
• Build reliable distributed systems with scalable architecture.
• Scale APIs and databases as usage grows.
• Operate what you build with monitoring and on-call participation.
• Collaborate with support and customers to drive product improvements.
• Improve engineering quality with tests, tooling, and new capabilities.
