Job summary

Tew & Taylor is seeking a skilled Plan Reviewer to ensure plans comply with Florida Building Code and local regulations. You will review construction documents and coordinate with clients, contractors, and authorities to facilitate permitting and construction progress.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and strong customer service, with opportunities for growth across Florida. You will work with the team to support efficient reviews and effective communication throughout the project

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in building code plan review or related field.
Certification as Plans Examiner or ability to obtain within six months (preferred: ICC or Florida Board).
Strong knowledge of Florida Building Code (structural/mechanical/electrical/plumbing/energy).
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed reviews of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans for code compliance.
Provide clear feedback to clients regarding corrections or clarifications.
Ensure plan reviews meet same-day or next-day service commitments.
Communicate with contractors, design professionals, and permitting officials to resolve issues.
Stay updated with building code changes and apply to reviews.
Maintain accurate records of reviews and project progress.
Collaborate with the inspection team to ensure a seamless plan review process.
