Position Overview

This is NOT a UAS, UAV, RPV, or DRONE pilot position.

We seek Part-time, Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) candidates to support air traffic controller training at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, OK, as part of the SAIC Controller Training Solutions team.

Responsibilities

• Operate a simulated radar display and voice communication system to mimic pilot and remote ATC facility actions during training exercises.
• Receive voice commands, input data into systems, and communicate using proper ATC phraseology.
• Complete certifications through classroom and lab training, including airspace and procedures tests and role-specific performance.

About the FAA

The FAA ensures high safety standards for air traffic control specialists, managing over 14,000 controllers who oversee more than 50,000 daily flights in the NAS. The FAA trains new and current controllers through contractor-supported programs across the U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and basic computer skills.
• Ability to interpret diagrams, manuals, and communicate clearly.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in multidisciplinary teams, ATC simulation labs, or familiarity with FAA regulations (JO 7110.65).
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic technological tools.
• Knowledge of pilot/controller communication phraseology is a plus.
