Mercor is seeking a Physics PhD contractor to tackle challenging physics problems and review AI-generated proofs for rigor and correctness. You will identify gaps in model outputs and apply formal reasoning with proper citations as needed.

The role is remote with a commitment of approximately 15 hours per week, suitable for a top physics program graduate. Availability to begin immediately is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Physics from a top 50 program (US/UK/CA).
• Strong graduate-level problem-solving ability across advanced physics topics.
• Ability to clearly articulate reasoning and reference relevant theorems or principles.

Aufgaben

• Solve and evaluate challenging physics problems across subfields.
• Review AI-generated proofs, derivations, and solutions for correctness and rigor.
• Identify gaps or inconsistencies in model outputs and provide clear justifications.
• Apply relevant citations and formal reasoning where appropriate.
• Work independently to complete tasks within 24 hours when available.
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI research teams to improve AI systems' reasoning capabilities.
