Job summary

MedKoder, LLC, headquartered in Mandeville, LA, is seeking a Physician Coder for a 100% remote, full-time role. The candidate will review and code inpatient/profee cases with a focus on E/M leveling, ICD-10-CM coding, and compliance with payer guidelines.

Responsibilities include meeting daily production and accuracy targets while updating leadership on trends. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of physician coding, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10-CM.

Qualifications

• Must have active AHIMA or AAPC credential (e.g., CCS-P, CPC) and 5 years physician coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, E/M leveling, and Medicare/Medicaid policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and EHR/billing systems.
• Remote-work experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review and code professional fee cases to maximize reimbursement in a timely manner.
• Review E/M visits and office procedures.
• Work independently and research coding scenarios.
• Meet daily production and 95% accuracy goals.
• Attend conference calls and provide information to leadership.
• Stay current on coding guidelines and participate in department meetings.
• Expand coding skill set into other specialties.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
