Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking a Physician Advisor to review payor peer-to-peer cases and advise on authorization status, working remotely across the United States.

The role requires an active MD or DO license and at least 3 years of clinical experience after residency, with proficiency in basic computer skills for a remote work environment. You will engage payor medical directors, provide written analyses, and serve as a clinical resource to medical and case management staff to resolve documentation

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted MD or DO medical licensure.
• Minimum 3+ years of clinical experience post-residency completion.

Responsibilities

• Review payor peer-to-peer cases to ensure proper authorization.
• Evaluate denied authorizations for documentation adequacy and care setting.
• Advise clients on appropriateness of requests based on available documentation.
• Discuss cases with payor medical directors to determine authorization status.
• Provide written case analyses and review cases across multiple specialties.
• Serve as a clinical resource to staff for documentation and utilization issues.
