Sound Physicians seeks a Physician Advisor for Advisory Services—Remote, Full-time. The role emphasizes clinically supported case reviews, medical necessity determinations, and EMR proficiency.

You will collaborate with hospitals across several states to improve care and outcomes while navigating Medicare and payer guidelines. Ideal candidates hold an MD/DO with ABMS/ABQAURP-certification, and have experience in utilization review and clinical documentation improvement.

Qualifications

• MD or DO licensure in the state of employment.
• Board Certification (Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Critical Care) recognized by ABMS or ABQAURP.
• Utilization-specific training from ABQAURP, or equivalent, within 12 months of hire.
• Education on application of medical necessity criteria within 3 months of hire.
• 3 years post-residency experience as an advisor strongly preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Holistic case review with all-inclusive determinations of medical necessity, documentation accuracy, and clinical documentation improvement.
• Conduct Level of Care determinations.
• Perform Peer-to-Peer reviews.
