Job summary

eCarsTrade is seeking a hands-on PHP Team Lead to drive backend architecture and scalability for its global auction platform.

You will mentor a skilled development team, ship reliable PHP services using Symfony/Laravel, and own CI/CD pipelines with Docker, Jenkins or GitLab CI while collaborating with product, frontend and ML teams to deliver high-impact solutions. This is a 70/30 developer lead role with emphasis on code quality, performance, and customer value.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on PHP development.
• 2+ years of team leadership experience.
• Proficiency with Docker for deployment.
• Experience implementing and optimizing queues for background tasks.
• Strong scaling knowledge for backend systems.
• Proficiency in English and Russian.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers: plan work, manage timelines, ensure code quality.
• Manage technical debt across services, own technology decisions.
• Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, ML teams to deliver solutions.
• Design, develop and enhance backend apps using PHP.
• Utilize Docker for containerization and orchestration.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for testing, deployment, releases.
• Maintain customer-centric approach with value-added features.
