Job summary

Hidden Jobs is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, build, and maintain PHP services within a Laravel/Symfony ecosystem. You will develop REST APIs, manage data in MySQL/MariaDB, and use Redis for caching, with testing in PEST or PHPUnit and API docs via Swagger/OpenAPI.

The role supports hybrid work with potential remote options in the surrounding region; 2–5 years of PHP backend experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of professional PHP backend development experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Laravel, with exposure to Symfony considered a plus.
• Solid understanding of REST API design, HTTP, and relational databases such as MySQL or MariaDB.
• Hands-on experience with Redis and with testing frameworks like PEST or PHPUnit.
• Familiarity with API documentation standards such as Swagger or OpenAPI.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using PHP, Laravel, and Symfony.
• Model and optimize data in MySQL or MariaDB and integrate Redis for caching and performance needs.
• Write automated tests with PEST or PHPUnit, and document APIs using Swagger or OpenAPI.
• Implement and consume HTTP-based integrations, including interfaces following the Model Context Protocol where applicable.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and infrastructure teammates to deliver reliable, maintainable features.
