United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Backend PHP Developer to join our team in a hybrid role based in Colchester. You will develop, maintain, and optimize PHP code, APIs, and microservices, with exposure to AWS and DevOps practices.

The role requires 5+ years of commercial PHP development, strong Symfony, REST APIs, AWS, Linux/NGINX, Git, and solid documentation. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.

Qualifications

• Commercial PHP development experience with Symfony framework.
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency with AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, RDS).
• Familiarity with Linux/NGINX and Git.
• Strong frontend basics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and accessibility.
• Excellent documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop well-structured, maintainable, and testable PHP code using Symfony.
• Design and implement APIs and microservices for seamless system integration.
• Work with AWS services to optimize performance and scalability.
• Develop and maintain business logic for internal applications and customer-facing platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, document, and implement new features.
• Ensure code quality through best practices, version control (Git), and testing strategies.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Work within an Agile development process, estimating work and delivering projects on time.
