Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support formulary management, prior authorization, and Medicare Part D operations in Albany, NY. You will work with clinical pharmacists and multiple departments to ensure compliant, timely processing of pharmacy-related requests.

The role requires strong data entry, attention to detail, and knowledge of pharmacy benefits. Prior authorization and audit support experience are valuable assets for success in this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience with formulary management, prior authorization or claims processing is a plus.
• Strong data entry and detail orientation.
• Ability to explain pharmacy benefits and assist members.

Responsibilities

• Review formulary change requests from health plans and submit updates.
• Generate and review formulary status grids for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Perform audits and quality checks on formulary status using reports.
• Assist pharmacists with formulary database maintenance and website updates.
• Process member inquiries and review PDE files for Medicare Part D events.
• Enter and document prior authorizations in the PBM system and communicate decisions to providers and members.
• Support regulatory changes and audits for state health programs and Medi-Cal.
