Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Approximately 3-8 years of legal experience.
• Personal injury and civil litigation experience.
• Experience independently handling an active caseload.
• Prior participation in mediations.
• Experience taking expert depositions.
• Experience preparing cases for trial.
• Strong legal writing, communication, research and case-management skills.
• Typical annual billable-hour expectation of approximately 1,850-1,950 hours.
• Flexibility to consider a lower billable-hour requirement at a corresponding compensation level.
• Generous bonus structure for hours billed above the applicable threshold.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a personal injury and civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and substantive legal analysis
• Take and defend party, witness and expert depositions
• Participate in mediations and settlement conferences
• Develop case strategy and provide evaluations and recommendations to clients
• Prepare cases for trial and participate meaningfully in the trial process
• Attend court hearings and other litigation-related proceedings
• Collaborate with partners, associates and professional support staff
