Job summary

Thefreelancefirm is seeking a Personal Injury Attorney for a remote, contract-based role in Columbus, OH. Expect approximately 10+ hours per week with some in-person depositions and client meetings.

Responsibilities include handling PI matters from pre-litigation through litigation, drafting pleadings, researching case law, and negotiating settlements with carriers. Must be licensed in a U.S. jurisdiction and have 5+ years PI experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience.
• Experience handling cases from pre-litigation through litigation.
• Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and case management skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle plaintiff or defense personal injury matters from pre-litigation through litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, demand packages, and settlement documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy.
• Review medical records, expert reports, and case documentation.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
• Prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and client meetings as needed.
