Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a licensed Virginia attorney to manage a diverse personal injury caseload remotely from anywhere in Virginia. Take ownership from inception through settlement or trial while building strong client relationships.

Candidates must have an active Virginia Bar and at least 1+ year of personal injury experience, with strong research, writing, negotiation, and client communication skills.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active Virginia Bar license.
• At least 1+ year of personal injury experience required.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury matters from inception through settlement or litigation.
• Develop case strategies by evaluating liability, damages, medical records, evidence, and potential recovery.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, expectations, and next steps.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, settlement documents, case summaries, and other filings.
• Conduct and defend depositions and actively participate in the discovery process.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
• Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, hearings, and trial when appropriate.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and other litigation-related matters.
• Collaborate remotely with attorneys, case managers, and support staff to move cases efficiently toward resolution.
