Job summary

Outlier is seeking hands-on personal finance experts to design realistic financial scenarios and evaluate AI-generated plans. You’ll work remotely with a fully flexible schedule, applying your tax, investment, and financial planning expertise to shape how advanced AI models reason and perform in real-world scenarios.

This is a 1099 contract opportunity with pay up to $90/hr, plus incentives. You can work from home or while traveling, access leading AI tools, and contribute to frontier AI

Qualifications

• Hands-on professional experience serving individual clients in one or more of: Personal tax tasks including 1040s and planning.
• Investment and retirement guidance for individuals (portfolio construction, 401(k)/IRA, Roth, Social Security).
• Comprehensive financial planning (budgeting, cash flow, debt, goals).
• Estate planning basics (trusts, gifting, fiduciary accounting) not required to be attorney.
• Experience with debt events (student loans, mortgage refinance, credit-card payoff, 529/college).
• Knowledge of equity compensation and self-employed finances (RSUs, options, ESPP).

Responsibilities

• Design and solve complex, real-world client scenarios to train AI in expert personal financial planning.
• Critique AI-generated deliverables for accuracy and sound reasoning, ensuring outputs meet the standards you would hold for your own client work.
