Job summary

TEW & TAYLOR seeks a detail-oriented Permit Technician to manage a high weekly volume of permit submittals across Florida jurisdictions. This role can be based in West Palm Beach or remote for qualified candidates.

The ideal candidate has Florida permitting experience across multiple jurisdictions, proficiency with permitting portals, and excellent organizational and communication skills to move applications efficiently through building departments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Florida permitting required, ideally across multiple jurisdictions and a large service area.
• Experience in high-volume permitting environments across multiple municipalities is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with municipal and county permitting portals and submittal processes.
• Strong knowledge of local and state permitting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with high-volume submittals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and track a high volume of permit applications with local and state agencies each week.
• Manage submittals through various Florida building department portals.
• Review permit requirements to ensure regulatory and company policy compliance.
• Respond to comments and corrections to move applications toward approval.
• Maintain detailed records of permits, approvals, and related documentation.
• Communicate with municipal departments and regulatory agencies to resolve permitting issues.
• Assist project managers and clients in navigating the permitting process.
• Coordinate documentation, plans, and supporting materials for complete, first-pass submittals.
