Job summary

Michigan Peer Review Organization is seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Physician to perform remote peer reviews as an independent contractor (1099). You will apply clinical expertise to assess medical necessity and quality of care for cases across the pediatric critical care spectrum.

This remote role requires an unrestricted U.S. medical license, board certification, and at least five years of direct clinical care with a minimum of 20 hours per week in patient care.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.
• Board certification through ABMS, AOA, or equivalent.
• At least five years of full-time direct clinical care.
• Direct clinical care in past three years.
• Knowledge of guidelines and novel treatments relevant to the review.
• Active engagement in direct or virtual patient care at least 20 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct objective, evidence-based peer reviews of clinical cases.
• Determine medical necessity and quality of care.
• Ensure decisions are fair, unbiased and aligned with current standards of practice.
• Submit reviews promptly using IT systems provided.
