Job summary

Department of Community (DCH) is seeking a DCH Accessibility Remediation Technician to remediate accessibility issues in static documents such as PDFs, Word, and PowerPoint files. You will receive on-the-job training and work under supervision on a remote, Atlanta-area project.

The role requires strong general IT skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new software tools quickly. It is a 5-month assignment with a local requirement for equipment and access to the project team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-the-job training related to PDF accessibility and remediation procedures.
• Learn and use software to identify and fix accessibility issues in PDFs.
• Review assigned PDF files and perform remediation per procedures.
• Modify document structure and accessibility elements as directed by procedures.
• Use automated accessibility-checking tools to identify issues and verify work.
• Perform basic manual quality checks of remediated documents.
