Job summary

Clarivate is seeking a Patent Analyst to work remotely as an independent contractor focusing on Computing, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Physics. You will conduct comprehensive patent Searches, read disclosures quickly, and prepare written opinions on patentability for a USPTO contract.

The role involves weekly project intake, strict deadlines, and maintaining up-to-date search methods across major patent databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or related field.
• 1+ year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field.
• 1+ year of work experience in the industry or advanced research in a related field.
• Must pass USPTO Background check and be eligible for Public Trust Clearance.
• U.S. citizen or work eligible legal resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Accept projects with defined due dates each week based on availability and Clarivate needs.
• Read disclosures quickly and understand technical nuances to distinguish from prior art.
• Perform comprehensive search and provide a complete search history.
• Prepare written opinion applying relevant prior art to the disclosure.
• Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching databases and proprietary databases.
• Stay updated on best practices and search procedures through Clarivate materials.
• Maintain timeliness and high quality of deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with Clarivate’s Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct.
