Job summary

Clarivate Plc seeks a Patent Analyst to join our team as a remote independent contractor in a flexible 1099 role supporting USPTO services.

You will conduct comprehensive searches, prepare written opinions on patentability, and maintain proficiency with patent databases. Flexible hours and work from the continental United States are required. A Bachelor's degree and IP experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/Electronics/Physics or related field.
• 1+ year of patents or IP field experience.
• 1+ year in industry or advanced research in related field.
• Must pass USPTO Background check.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• U.S. citizen or eligible resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last two years.
• Preferred: patent examining/searching experience.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Accept projects weekly with defined due dates.
• Read disclosures quickly and understand technical nuances distinguishing prior art.
• Perform comprehensive searches and provide a complete search history.
• Prepare written opinions applying relevant prior art.
• Maintain proficiency with patent databases and other proprietary databases.
• Stay updated on search practices via provided Clarivate materials.
• Maintain timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Adhere to Clarivate's Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.
