Gallagher Benefit Services is seeking a Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist to support multi-jurisdictional payroll tax work. The role can be fully remote or hybrid for those in the Norwalk, CT area, joining a collaborative team of payroll professionals dedicated to accurate tax administration and client service.

Qualifications

• Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
• Experience with payroll taxes and quarterly/ annual reconciliations.
• Ability to research and resolve tax agency notices.
• Knowledge of state income, unemployment, and local payroll taxes.
• Excellent communication and client-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Set up Department of Labor and Department of Revenue tax IDs for states and municipalities.
• Assist with tax audits, reconciliations, or other tax projects as needed.
• Provide ongoing tax maintenance services (SUI rate updates, notices, vendor processes).
• Coordinate with clients to manage multiple needs and deadlines.
• Offer guidance on applying state and federal tax regulations.
