Job summary

Your Ambition is seeking a Payroll Manager to join the People Solutions team with remote working available. You will own the end-to-end payroll service for a portfolio of outsourced clients, including setup, processing, RTI, pensions, year-end activities and compliance.

You will work with clients, HMRC and internal teams to deliver accurate, compliant payroll on time while identifying opportunities to improve services and support business growth.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in UK payroll processing, ideally within outsourced payroll bureau or provider environments.
• Proven ability to process payrolls start-to-finish while managing multiple clients and deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, RTI, pensions and auto-enrolment legislation.
• Experience setting up and implementing new payrolls, including pension schemes and migrations.
• Excellent client-facing communication with ability to explain technical payroll matters clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end processing of multiple client payrolls, ensuring accuracy and deadlines.
• Set up new client payrolls including records, pay elements, pensions and calendars.
• Process starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, deductions and adjustments.
• Complete RTI submissions, reconcile liabilities, and year-end reporting (P60s).
• Administer workplace pensions and auto-enrolment schemes and compliance.
• Act as primary payroll contact for SME clients, providing expert advice.
• Support payroll implementations, migrations, audits and health checks.
• Identify opportunities to enhance payroll services and support wider business growth.
• Maintain data security, audit trails and QA processes.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Recruitment and IT to meet client needs.
