Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Patient Registration Representative for remote, part-time work (32 hours per week). You will welcome patients, manage registrations, verify insurance, and collect payments, delivering accurate patient access with empathy.

Under supervision you will perform preregistration, check-ins, insurance eligibility checks, and respond to inquiries by phone, in writing, or in person. You will mentor colleagues and support a fast-paced patient services environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in patient admitting/registration and/or insurance eligibility verification preferred.
• EPIC training/experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service skills across phone, in person, and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and serve as the front door for visits, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Process new patient registrations and update existing information accurately.
• Verify insurance eligibility and explain coverage and financial responsibilities.
• Address patient inquiries with empathy and problem-solving.
• Manage cash collections professionally while maintaining trust.
• Respond promptly to inquiries via phone, in person, or written communication.
