  • Provides remote continuous observation of multiple patients to ensure safety and prevention of injury.
  • Responsible for one-on-one direct, continuous observation for the purpose of injury prevention of patients who might be at high risk to injure themselves or others due to confusion, delirium, self-destructive behavior, or a high likely hood of falling.
  • Effectively manages multiple responsibilities, urgent responses and challenging situations.
  • Displays proficiency utilizing monitoring technology.
  • Navigates and retrieves information from the electronic medical record.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills in collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Notifies member of clinical care team of any change in patient's condition or attempt to harm self.
  • Monitors patients continuously, always keeping patient in full view.
  • Utilizes respectful verbal cues to elicit patient cooperation.
  • Participates in general conversation or other distraction activities if desired by patient.
  • Communicates patient concerns to oncoming staff at change of shift.
  • Notifies bedside staff to correct poor quality monitoring.
  • Maintains documentation per procedure.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides support to the patient care team by providing remote continuous observation of multiple patients to ensure safety and prevention of injury. Navigates and retrieves information from the electronic medical record. Communicates with members of the healthcare team. Must have the ability to concentrate in a busy environment. Reports to Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Administrative Manager or Staff Nurse.

*This is not a remote position. Position will be located on campus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED) required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
