Job summary

Transformations Care Network is seeking a Patient Financial Advocate to manage patient billing inquiries and payment plans across the United States in a remote role. The position emphasizes compassionate financial explanations, accurate account review in NextGen PMS, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines while supporting revenue cycle performance.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in physician billing, strong verbal communication, and familiarity with insurance terminology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years of physician billing or revenue cycle experience.
• Experience reviewing patient accounts and explaining insurance benefits.
• Strong verbal communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Basic knowledge of insurance terminology (EOBs, deductibles, coinsurance).
• Proficiency with medical practice management systems (NextGen preferred).
• Ability to navigate multiple systems while speaking with patients.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented with tight turnaround times.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls from patients regarding billing statements and account balances.
• Explain charges, insurance payments, deductibles, coinsurance, and patient responsibility clearly.
• Review patient accounts in NextGen PMS for accurate balance interpretation.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or escalate as needed.
• Set up standard payment plans per policies.
• Process secure payments and provide receipts or confirmations.
• Document all patient interactions in the system.
