Job summary

Qualifications

• Customer service or call center experience required.
• Healthcare billing, insurance, or claims experience strongly preferred.
• Payment processing or financial transaction experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; additional billing or healthcare education a plus.
• Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications.
• Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual environment.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Background check required in accordance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Process patient payments via phone in line with Privia policies.
• Create and maintain payment plans per guidelines.
• Ensure documentation and data integrity of transactions.
• Explain claim notes, balances, and outcomes to patients.
• Verify and update insurance information in EMR.
• Educate patients on billing concepts (deductibles, coinsurance, etc.).
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues.
• Research account history to determine root causes of billing concerns.
• Recommend resolutions in line with Privia policies.
• Maintain professionalism and empathy in sensitive financial discussions.
• Utilize Privia-approved billing systems and EMR platforms.
• Navigate multiple systems to assist patients while maintaining privacy and security.
• Adhere to documentation, privacy, and security requirements.
• Maintain schedule adherence and availability during shifts.
• Complete required Privia and client training; participate in uptraining and cross-training.
• Uphold HIPAA and confidentiality standards; demonstrate patient-centered service.
