Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking an Insurance Billing Patient Account Specialist to manage the billing and collection activities with insurance carriers. Under the Manager, Patient Financial Services, you will handle account research, denial resolution, and timely follow-up on claims.

You will work within EPIC queues to optimize A/R performance and ensure accurate payments. Required education is a high school diploma with at least 1 year in patient financial services or healthcare billing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• 1 year of experience in patient financial services or healthcare billing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and compliance
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Billing and collection activity with insurance carriers
• Research and contact with patients, guarantors, insurers or third-party payers
• Billing of accounts, review of payment accuracy, account research and follow-up
• Coordinate with service providers and payers for denials and timely follow-up
• Sort EPIC work-queues to implement effective A/R strategies
• Stay current on payer billing requirements and communicate payer trends to supervisor
