Job summary

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of billing/insurance experience.
• Expertise in utilizing payer portals/websites (eligibility and benefits).
• Excellent written, verbal and face-to-face communication skills, including ability to explain insurance information to patients.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform critical and complex billing functions including review of charges, eligibility analysis, and charge reconciliation.
• Obtain authorizations from carriers via phone, fax, or online systems.
• Review charges prior to billing and ensure accuracy in MiChart.
• Resolve insurance issues to mitigate claim denials.
• Provide patient-facing explanations of insurance and billing information.
