Job summary

Integrated Autism Centers in Detroit area is seeking a meticulous Medical Biller & Authorizations Representative to own the revenue cycle from authorization to payment. This full-time role requires completing claims accurately and chasing denials to keep cash flowing.

You will submit claims for ABA, speech, and OT, verify CPT/ICD-10 codes, manage authorizations, post payments, and monitor aging reports. The ideal candidate has 1+ year billing experience and strong HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of medical billing experience, ABA/behavioral health billing preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding, modifiers, and payer-specific rules; familiarity with Michigan payers.
• Experience with practice management/EMR systems and clearinghouses (CentralReach a plus).
• Strong follow-through and persistence to resolve payers on the phone.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple payers and deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication with families, staff, and insurers.
• Discretion and HIPAA compliance in handling PHI and confidential data.

Responsibilities

• Submit claims for ABA, speech, and OT services; verify CPT codes and documentation before submission.
• Work denials and appeals; communicate with payers to resolve issues and keep revenue flowing.
• Submit and track authorizations; monitor expiration dates and unit utilization.
• Post payments and reconcile ERA/EOBs; flag underpayments or contract discrepancies.
• Monitor aging reports; follow up on outstanding claims and report to leadership.
• Verify patient coverage and benefits at intake; re-verify as needed.
• Submit payer documentation requests and coordinate with clinical staff to meet deadlines.
