Job summary

NeoGenomics is seeking a remote Pathology Data Specialist to ensure diagnostic accuracy and seamless data integration across genomic, molecular, cytogenetic and pathology workflows. You will extract data from pathology reports, validate specimen metadata, and enter standardized information into NeoGenomics' LIS, collaborating with pathologists and the medical team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field is required.
• 2+ years in pathology informatics or related environment.
• Experience abstracting pathology data and entering structured information into databases.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR and LIS/NIS; CAP/CLIA/HIPAA knowledge.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review pathology reports and abstract diagnostic elements.
• Serve as liaison with pathology/medical team for clarifications.
• Escalate questions to pathologists for confirmation.
• Document escalations and maintain audit traceability.
• Map diagnoses to IHC reflex markers and molecular test bundles.
• Coordinate accurate entry of structured data into databases/LIS.
• Utilize LIS/NIS and related databases for data entry and QC.
• Collaborate with Client Services, IHC Lab, Molecular Operations, and Reporting teams.
• Support data flow automation and documentation processes.
• Train and mentor new team members in abstraction and mapping.
• Achieve proficiency in diagnostic abstraction and data entry within two months.
• Maintain data accuracy and traceability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for turnaround time.
