Job summary

Washtenaw Community College is seeking a Part Time Business Consultant – SDBC to cover the southern Greater Washtenaw Region, focusing on start-ups and early-stage ventures. The role requires providing counseling, developing business plans, and coordinating intake with a strong emphasis on meeting 400 consulting hours per year.

The position is remote currently with on-site attendance as needed and occasional partner events; salary is $26.17 per hour.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and networking skills.
G Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work with a highly diverse client base.
Ability to use workplace technology including AI-supported tools and assess AI content.

Responsibilities

Assess client needs and determine MI-SBDC and other assistance required.
Provide one-on-one business and technical counseling to clients.
Develop business plans, marketing strategies, financing packages and related projects.
Coordinate client intake, triage, and training activities.
Maintain client records in CRM per SBA compliance and MI-SBDC standards.
Meet annual consulting hours target and report progress to stakeholders.
Deliver start-up seminars and presentations to business owners.
Support administrative staff and build relationships with service providers.
