Job summary

South Dakota Native Tourism Alliance (SDNTA) is seeking a motivated Program Director to lead strategic project management and tourism development. This remote, part-time role (22–25 hours/week) travels throughout South Dakota and reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

The Director will oversee operations, grants, and partnerships with Tribal nations, SD Tourism, and Native-owned businesses, advancing sustainable, Native-led tourism initiatives across the nine Tribal Nations.

Qualifications

• Cultural competence for engaging tribal governments and communities.
• Strong project management with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholders and board members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom/Meet, and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute community training programs and events.
• Build partnerships with Tribal nations and Economic Development entities.
• Assist in grant execution and reporting.
• Develop and pilot SDNTA-tour itineraries and tours.
• Handle daily admin tasks and maintain records.
• Track metrics for grants and compliance.
• Engage in quarterly tribal meetings and communications.
